Midshipman and Freeman

Congratulations to Worshipful Company of Water Conservators Freeman, Jess Fox, who has recieved her commission as an Officer in the Royal Navy.  Jess was with Southern Water before she joined the Navy. Her training included time on HMS Prince of Wales during exercises ahead of the Carrier Strike Group world tour this year.  At present, she  is undergoing ‘Phase Two’ training, a more specialised instruction comprising time at sea, shore-based courses and ‘holdovers’ (gap-fillers between sea drafts and courses).

She is attached to HMS Richmond (a Type 23 Frigate based out of Plymouth) until April, then she will go on holdover until the end of June, before starting a six-month forecasting course back in Plymouth. Eventually she will be an Officer of Meteorology and Oceanography.
