Members of the Company joined a boat tour from London Bridge Pier to learn about the construction of the Thames Tideway Tunnel and new areas of riverside public spaces that are taking shape along the River Thames.
We heard that the £4.5 billion Thames Tideway Tunnel has upgraded London’s Victorian sewer system, helping it to cope with the capital’s growing population, tackling sewage pollution and making the city more resilient. Underground construction of the tunnel is now complete and new areas of riverside public spaces are taking shape along the River Thames. Our tour was a fantastic opportunity to learn about the Thames Tideway Tunnel project and see those new public spaces from the unique aspect of the river.
After the tour some of us enjoyed lunch on the side of the river.
