The Company has responded in detail to the Defra Consultation on the Land Use Framework. It is pleased that a strategic approach is being used, but is disappointed that there is insufficient recognition of the roles of land and water merged into the concept of Intergrated Natural Resources Management. The Company promotes the use of Catchment Planning and has taken the lead in using the syntax of the Consultation to suggest that a National Water Strategy, which it has consistently promoted, could be rebranded as a Water Use Framework. The Company also pointed out the lack of coordination with the newly revised Nation Planning Policy Framework.
