Members of the Company joined Alderwoman Dame Susan Langley DBE and Alderman Bronek Masojada for the Best of British themed Sheriffs’ Ball in aid of The Lord Mayor’s Appeal at the Guildhall.
The Guildhall and the crypt were transformed by an amazing light display. The centre of the Guildhall was turned into a huge dance floor.
It was a fantastic event with great fellowship and a wonderful evening of dining and dancing. Most importantly the Sheriffs’ Ball raised over £72,000 which will support three partner charities MQ Mental Health Research, Homewards – A Royal Foundation programme and National Numeracy – each a leading expert in addressing social issues and together we are delivering pioneering programmes for change.
- MQ Mental Health Research – developing mental health research that leads to better treatments, better support and faster diagnoses for everyone affected by mental illnesses
- The Royal Foundation has launched Homewards, a transformative, five-year, locally-led programme to make homelessness rare, brief and unrepeated
- National Numeracy – empowering Londoners to feel confident with the everyday maths they need to thrive through a network of newly trained Numeracy Champions
Funds raised from the Heads and Tails have supported the Sheriff and Recorders Fund, which gives small grants to ex-prisoners and their families in London to help them stop offending and start a new life.
Thanks to the organisers for all their hard work.
