Rowing the Water Conservator’s Cutter

With two crews we rowed our Cutter Water Forget-Me-Not almost to the Thames Barrier and twice to the O2 (Millenium Dome) from the Cutter’s base in Charlton. We all had great fun and learnt so much, not only about rowing, but also about the Thames, its history and the moderrn traffic.

Our very great thanks to our Cox and guide Stuart Smith.  His skills at safely navigating us and particularly manoevouring in a running river were impressive.  Our thanks to Cory’s for providing us with a base to row from.

Thanks also to the two “Strokes” who set the pace. For the second crew the Thames Warden’s Bailiff Tom Morton definitely set a faster pace than the Thames Warden Carolyn Roberts! Thanks to the crews for pulling their weight and to everyone for such an enjoyable evening.  We were all very impressed with our achievements.  Anyone admit to feeling a little bit stiff today?
