In this webinar, Alex will highlight some of the global issues that are driving the state of water resources, water supply and services, and investment into water infrastructure. He will argue that in many cases, existing approaches are incompatible with SDG targets on global water security and climate resilience; and that the status quo needs to be challenged. Alex will also present some of the new approaches being developed in the context of adaptation and resilience, and invite a discussion with the audience around possible future pathways

About the Speaker:

Alex is the Founder and CEO of Watermarq, an early-stage company with a mission to break the status quo on how water is valued. Concurrently, Alex is a Principal Investigator and Founder-in Residence at the University of Oxford’s Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment. His part-time external appointments include Chief Investment Advisor to the Africa Water Investment Programme, Member of the Global Water Partnership’s Technical Committee, and Court member of the Worshipful Company of Water Conservators.
