Cutter lost!

The Water Conservators have a very successful Cutter and Crew, which for several years have been winning almost every race.

We had great hopes for The Port of London Challenge, a race for six oared Watermen’s cutters carrying a coxswain and one passenger (the Master). The course is from HMS Wellington, King’s Reach to Imperial Wharf, a distance of approx. 4.6 statute miles.

Sadly we lost (again) to the Glaziers but our mixed rowing team of six rowers were splendid nevertheless. A very quick time for this race. There had been a fire on the jetty and our team have not been able to practice together, whereas the Glaziers team (most of whom looked about 15) could.  It was a very good race despite the rain!

Please help us regain our crown by sponsoring the Cutter and Crew! If you are very keen, please have a go at rowing.
