Members of the Company and guests were treated to a super evening in the impressive surrounds of the Pewterers’ Hall. After a sparkling reception in the Court Room with beautiful 17th century panelling and Georgian chandeliers we were treated to an impressive spread in the Livery Hall with its displays of Pewter. During the meal we were entertained by students from the Guildhall School of Music.
Past Master Peter Matthews welcomed our guests, including our newest member Baroness Barbara Young, and our speaker Chris Smith, Baron Smith of Finsbury. As a former MP, cabinet minister and Chair of the Environment Agency, Chis Smith engaged us with his knowledge and commitment to the environment. Our Master then responded on behalf of the Company before we adjourned for the Stirrup Cup.
It was a most enjoyable evening with thanks to everyone involved in the organisation and special thanks to our Clerk.
