Company Banquet

Our Banquet in the historic surroundings of the Apothecaries Hall was a great success.  The Master welcomed us with music from the Royal Marines Association Brass Ensembles.  We enjoyed the sumptuous three-course meal accompanied by Italian wine before we all attempted the sung grace, followed by the Loving Cup Ceremony.  After the toasts, we were entertained with a musical interlude including an energetic Post Horn Gallop.  I am not sure who won.

Nick Higham gave a very warm welcome to our Guests – Andrew Philips JP, Master Firefighter and Roger Harrabin.  Roger emphasised the importance of water and the environment and gave us an entertaining description of the work of a BBC reporter.  In conclusion, the Master thanked many members of the Company for their work and help over the past months.  The stirrup cup continued to flow late into the evening.
