On Saturday 30 March 2024 from 10.00 a flotilla of traditional rowed boats, have once again been invited by the organisers of the Boat Race to row over the course from Putney to Chiswick before the well known Oxford and Cambridge boat race in the afternoon.
There will be a flotilla of small boats be followed by Pilot Gigs and Watermen’s cutters competing in the Oxbridge Watermen’s Challenge racing over the full course.
These events will be part of the day of events on the river Thames preceding the Boat Races and will be watched by 1000s on the riverbank and millions around the world on BBC television.
The event will be starting from the University of London Boat Club (ULBC), Hartington Road, Chiswick. W4 3TU.
The full distance to be rowed will be from ULBC to Putney and return a total of 9.5 miles.
Please join us and cheer on our Cutter Water Forget-me-not as it competes in the Cutter race. The Master will be the passenger/chief bailer.

11:50 All boats afloat, cutters form up upstream of stake boats (opposite London RC)
12:00 Division One – Women’s start Oxbridge Watermen’s Challenge and Pilot gigs
12:10 Division Two – Mixed start Oxbridge Watermen’s Challenge
12:20 Division Three – Men’s start Oxbridge Watermen’s Challenge
12:45 Flotilla boats arrive at finishing line and continue upstream to ULBC.
12:55 Crews to immediately continue upstream to ULBC for disembarkation
13:00 All cutters, gigs and flotilla boats arrive ULBC, boats prepared and leave for tow back to home moorings
