Presented by Steve Kaye, CEO UK Water Industry Research

About this Webinar

Over 10 billion litres of sewage is treated in the UK every year and it takes around 7 gigawatt hours of energy to treat this. This is approximately 1% of energy demand for the UK. The water sector is faced with a challenge of reducing carbon emissions to zero. There are many ways to achieve this, not just by reducing pumping and treatment power consumption but looking at wider opportunities such as reducing customer demand, lowering capital carbon in construction and also energy & resource recovery. The presentation will be an overview of the challenges and opportunities for the water sector to achieve net zero carbon.
