Past Master Peter Matthews has asked for this to be posted.
The Company has responded to the Defra consultation on water efficiency and amendment of building regulations, which it has advocated for a long time. But the amendments are out of synch with the Water Company Ofwat Environmental Incentive scheme which is a bit more demanding. In terms of smart regulation the Company advocated bringing these into line. It also suggests that money provided for in PR24 for the Incentives could be repurposed to support a grant aided scheme to help existing customers become more efficient or even to rekindle the much missed ‘dripping tap service by water companies. This would be popular. The Company has also highlighted the revised Environment Improvement Programme published in early December, this contains targets which will be of relevance to any future submissions the Company makes to future consultations.
